"A Brush with History at the CVB"

We are fortunate to exhibit our historically themed artwork at the Dalton CVB, located in the renovated freight depot. The show has been well received, and two paintings have been sold...so far. The exhibit will hang until November 30th.

"Here Beneath Our Skies" exhibit ends

The Beth Kellerhals exhibit "Here Beneath Our Skies" ends on Friday, August 28th. We may pick up our paintings anytime during school hours. If you cannot pick up your paintings, someone will be glad to do that for you. We're always here to help.

Dr. Bunch has said that Catoosa County is sponsoring a website for the Beth Kellerhals Exhibit Hall. The website will feature artwork exhibited there.

Beth Kellerhals show ends, Tunnel Hill exhibit begins

The Beth Kellerhals (in Ringgold) exhibit ends on Friday, the 28th. We can pick up our paintings between about 8:30am and 3:00pm. If you need someone to pick up paintings for you, that's no problem. Just let BJ, or someone else of your choice, know and we'll be glad to pick up them up.

Also...the Tunnel Hill show, "Echoes of Our Past" will be hung on Monday, August 31st beginning at 10:00am.

We'll be making a 20% donation of any sales to the Tunnel Hill Historical Foundation. So far, we have 34 paintings in the TH show inventory. Looks like we've all been busy. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact BJ.

"Falling into Art" Colonnade show is booked

Our "Falling into Art" Colonnade exhibit is booked for October 5th through November 16th. This gives us a six week long show before the holidays begin.

The theme will be anything having to do with Fall. Colorful landscapes, pumpkins, Thanksgiving, football players, fallen leaves, apple pickers, Halloween --- anything having to do with Fall will basically be acceptable.

We'll have room for about 10 paintings from each member. The Colonnade has a large exhibit area, so we have a chance to fill it up with color.

Thursday artwork delivery

Dr. Bunch indicated they will have room for between 30-40 paintings depending on sizes. So plan on bringing about 5 paintings each. I know some members have indicated they will bring only 2 or 3 - which is perfectly OK.

Delivery times are between 10am and noon on Thursday, August 6th.

Beth Kellerhall's is located on Sparks Street in Ringgold. You would turn North off Nashville St (Hwy 41) onto Sparks St. It's about 2 blocks to the exhibit hall on the right. It sits on the edge of the Ringgold High School campus. You can enter either door, although if you use the main door there will be someone there to help you with the artwork.

Also, Dr. Bunch indicated that they prefer that we attach the information plaques ourselves. We can use a business card, or card stock of the same size, with the title, medium and price. We'll also need to attach (to the back) our contact information.

Attaching a brief (1 or 2 paragraphs) description concerning the relevance of the subject would be helpful. This can be attached to the back of the painting.

Beth Kellerhall exhibit on August 6th

The "Here Beneath Our Sky" art exhibit at Beth Kellerhall's is just around the corner.

We'll deliver the paintings on Thursday, August 6th, and the senior students will hang the show. It will be available to the public beginning August 10th through August 27th (we'll remove the paintings on August 28th).

During our conversation, Dr. Bunch learned that most of our members paint subjects having to do with local landscapes, historic buildings, and other subjects representing the South. He's excited that we'll bring these subjects to the exhibit where they can be shared with his students and the community.

Attaching a descriptive paragraph (or two) about the location, event, etc to the back of the paintings would help connect the art teacher and the students to the historical significance of the paintings. It would give a starting point for discussion and further research for the students.

The Beth Kellerhall exhibit will end on August 28th (Friday) and we'll hang the "Echoes of Our Past" show at the Tunnel Hill Heritage Center on Monday, August 31st. I know these days/dates are close together, but most of the paintings at the Kellerhall exhibit can be used at the TH Heritage show.

"Georgia on My Mind" day

Thanks for every one's help at the "Georgia on My Mind" day on Friday, June 19th, at the Visitor Information (Welcome) Center on I-75. It was hotter than 'blue blazes' but everyone was just wonderful in the way they pitched in with display setup, greeting guests, and display breakdown...and enduring the 95+ degree weather. We even made it on the 6:00 o'clock WDEF-TV channel 12 news Friday night!

"Georgia on My Mind Day" coming next week!

Please see the information posted directly below. These are photos of last years exhibit. We'll be set up outside again this year...most likely in the same spot right beside the front double doors.

Thanks...and another Colonnade show

Today at the Colonnade, John Lee emphasized that he would like for the Art Alliance to have a Fall art exhibit there, probably during October and extending into November. He said he has another art group (Civic Arts League) coming in just before Thanksgiving and their Winter/Christmas show will hang until a few days after Christmas.

According to our show calendar, the Tunnel Hill "Echoes of Our Past" exhibit comes down on Monday, September 28th. That would leave available dates for the Colonnade show sometime between October 1st (Thursday) and November 20th (Friday). The Colonnade may, or may not, want the show to run the 7 weeks between these dates. They probably wouldn't want a show longer than 6 weeks...but that's just me guessing.

I'll be contacting John Lee within the next few days to set the firm date(s). Any suggestions as to the dates you prefer???? Let me know.

OK....so I need some input. Does anyone have suggestions as to a title for the Fall show?? The Spring show was titled "Spring into Summer". Would anyone like it to be "Fall into Winter"? Guess not...since John Lee said they'd like a Fall show. So...any more suggestions?? Please send them this way and I'll pass them along for approval.

Thanks to everyone who made the aforementioned "Spring into Summer" show so beautiful. Although there were no sales, we got positive feedback from the Colonnade staff and visitors. Keeping our names 'out there' for possible collectors is still something we can do. I'll be working with the Colonnade on a few ideas for more printed advertising (banner placement, etc.)

Let me know if I can answer any questions about this or upcoming shows. And be sure to check the Art Alliance blog for updates, etc.

"The Good Earth" show

Sandra and I hung paintings at "The Good Earth" this morning. I've e-mailed a web album link so everyone can see the entire show.
As you can see, they have lots of wall space.

These are only 3 photos of the 16 paintings.

Beth Kellerhall Exhibit Hall show

I've today spoken with Dr. Bunch who is the art director at Ringgold High School and the Beth Kellerhall Exhibit Hall. He has extended an invitation to the Art Alliance for an exhibit in August.

We'll deliver the paintings on Thursday, August 6th, and his senior students will hang the show. It will be available to the public beginning August 10th through August 27th (we'll remove the paintings on August 28th).

During our conversation he learned that most of our members paint subjects having to do with local landscapes, historic buildings, and other subjects representing the South. He's excited that we'll bring these subjects to the exhibit where they can be shared with his students and the community.

In thinking of a title for the show, I came across a notation I'd made for an earlier show. Would you consider using the theme/title for this show :
"Here Beneath Our Sky"?? I'd like to hear any comments or suggestions about this or perhaps another title.
